I am a 21 year old who loves creating outfits and costumes from my designs. I have 13 years of sewing experience. I just graduated Fashion Design and Techniques at George Brown College in Toronto. I have also taken workshops with The Canadian Alliance of Film & Television - CAFTCAD . Including Costume Breakdown:The Art of Destruction, Introduction to Commercial Styling and Costume 101 for Film and Television. I would like to use my skill set to work in the Film & Television industry within the Costume/Wardrobe Department.I am a Non Union person and interested in working On Set as a Daily ( including Breakdown) or in the Workroom ( Stitcher,Cutter, Breakdown or Helper). I am remaining in Toronto until mid-August, than I will return to my home town Ottawa.

Relevant Experience

Once Upon A Mattress – Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School Production (March 2015)

I was head of costumes for my high school production. I lead my team of 4 to create 100 costumes on a very low budget and with material donations. Each of these costumes were my designs and were created in a short time frame. Along with sewing these costumes, I also preformed in the musical.

Our team received a nomination for the Cappie Award in Ottawa.

My Fair Lady – Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School Production (April 2014)

I was head of costumes and led my team to create costumes based on my sketches. We made over 120 garments with a low budget and help from donations of material. I also acted in production.

AWARD -We were nominated for Cappie and we Won Best Costumes for Ottawa Secondary Schools.

Summer of 2014 - We took our My Fair Lady production and costumes to perform at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh Scotland.

Alice In Wonderland - Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School (April 2013)

I was part of my first Costume Team and helped create very interesting characters from my skill set while acting in the production.

We were nominated for a Cappie

Skreamers (Haunted House for Charity) Fall Months 2012-2015

I volunteered and I transformed myself into Zombie Mortician.

I am a positive, reliable, hard working, creative individual who is versatile and would enjoy learning jobs within a Costume /Wardrobe Department. I would like to work On Set as a Daily ( including Breakdown) or in the Workroom as a Stitcher, Cutter, Breakdown or Helper.

Testimonial quote. I would also be remiss if I didn’t single out Amanda Collie who did double duty as Lady Merrill and the play’s costume designer and seamstress which is no small feat given the fact there were 25 students in the cast and each cast member had at least two costumes.
— Fred Sherwin, Orleans Online: March 25, 2015
Testimonial quote. Amanda Collie, Kathleen McKee, Katrine Mercier, and Katie Petrakos created between 100 and 120 individual costume pieces for the production, including ball gowns, frock coats and court jester attire. Large dance numbers were visually enhanced by the couples in the chorus colour-coordinating with their corresponding partners. Queen Aggravian’s and King Sextimus’ costumes showed an impressive level of technical skill and attention to detail.
— Kellie MacDonald The Ottawa Citizen: May 6, 2015
Testimonial quote. Costumes were also impressive, considering they were sewn from scratch by the team of Amanda Collie, Kathleen McKee and Katie Petrakos: matching fabrics helped compliment ladies’ gowns in ensembles, while blazer vests with buttons and tuxedo jacket tails outfitted the gentlemen.
— Yahong Chi, The Ottawa Citizen: April 21, 2014
Testimonial quote. But thanks to the dedication and commitment of the entire cast and crew, including grade 11 student Amanda Collie who led a five member team in designing and making over 100 costumes, they somehow managed to pull it off.
